Author When this native Augustan died July 19, 1971, at age 79 in her home at 1422 Johns Road, her literary output included more than 50 books of juvenile mysteries, adventures and biographies and several hundred short stories, magazine serials and plays. Her first book, The Mystery of the White Knight, was published in 1927 under the pseudonym Marcia Ford. She was named Author of the Year by the Dixie Council of Authors and Journalists in 1969. In January 1928, she co-founded the Augusta Authors Club with Constance Lewis and Dr. Lawton Evans. She became the group's first secretary, with Dr. Evans becoming its first president. |
