Here are the five facts you should know about the Masters cut:

 

 

1 Who makes the cut at the Masters?

In 1957 the Masters instituted a 36-hole cut with the low 40 players and ties moving on. In 1962, the cut was changed to low 44 and ties. In 1966, the cut was amended to include anyone within 10 shots of the lead. In 2013, the cut was expanded to include the top 50 players and ties, plus anyone within 10 strokes of the leader.

2 Most cuts made

Jack Nicklaus made the cut at the Masters a record 37 times. In 1967, he became the first defending champion to miss the cut after winning back-to-back in 1965 and 1966.

3 Most consecutive cuts

Fred Couples (File/Staff)

We have a tie. Fred Couples and Gary Player share the record of 23 consecutive cuts made at the Masters. Couples' streak went from 1983-2007 and Player's from 1959-1982 (Player missed the tournament in 1973 because of a medical issue).

4 The highs and lows

The lowest cut score of 145 sent players to the weekend rounds at the Masters in 1979, 1992, 1995, 2001, 2009 and 2011. The highest cut score of 154 was good enough in 1982. The average cut score at the Masters is 148.55.

5 Young and old

The youngest player to make the cut at the Masters is Tianlang Guan, who was just 14 years, 5 months and 18 days old when he made it in 2013. He ended the tournament as low amateur, finishing the week at 12-over par. The oldest player to make the cut is 1973 Masters champion Tommy Aaron. He was 63 years old when accomplished the feat in 2000.
