Fans corner

Boo's clinic: Two-time PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup hero Boo Weekley will conduct a private clinic this morning at Fort Gordon Golf Course.

Weekley's personality, shots shine when putting doesn't

Sometimes it's hard to tell when Boo Weekley is serious and when he is joking. Such was the case after the first round of his Masters Tournament debut in 2008.

Weekley: Masters fans are truly memorable

It was a long day. I wasn't hitting it all that well today. I struggled. I struggled with the putter on the greens, too. That made it even longer.

Boo Weekley: The week was great

It was a long day. I wasn't hitting it all that well today. I struggled. I struggled with the putter on the greens, too. That made it even longer.

Weekley: Finally, a long putt goes in

My wife kind of told me it started looking hideous. She's like, it's time to trim it up or take it off. I didn't have trimmers with me, so I went ahead and took it off.

Weekley will be here all weekend trying to solve the greens

We hit that putt at the end of the practice round, so we kind of had an idea what it was going to do.

Weekley: Poor shots don't mar good day at course

(The first round) was all right. We hit a lot of good shots. We hit a lot of bad ones, too. We hit some bad putts out there. Overall, I'm really happy with how I played.

Weekley: It's nice to relax and enjoy sights

It's a great moment. It's a moment I won't forget. Being able to shake Jack's and Gary Player's and Arnold's (hands) all at the same time. They're human beings just like the rest of us. They don't want to be treated no different. We just said hey, and that was it. They're real good people.

Boo Weekley: Par 3 was memorable

Weekley: Winning Par-3 would be nice

I heard no one has ever won the Par-3 tournament and the Masters in the same year. What would I do if I'm leading going to the last hole today? I'm still going to try to win it. At least I'll be able to say I won it.

Florida town beats odds with three in tournament

MILTON, Fla. --- Under the dock outside Ed and Abbie Jean Weekley's home, the appropriately named Blackwater River flows serenely by on its way to East Bay.

Weekley: Acclimation starts with caveman golf

I got here Sunday. It's great. It's nice. It was cool to see them old (magnolia) trees. I just hit a few balls and chipped and putted. Took me about an hour to work my navigation system to get me to where I'm staying.

The boys from Milton take on the Masters

MILTON, Fla. --- Heath Slocum doesn't live in Milton anymore. He doesn't even live in Florida.

Super Bowl champion kicker hails from same small town

MILTON, Fla. --- PGA Tour golfers Boo Weekley, Heath Slocum and Bubba Watson aren't the only professional athletes to have done this city proud in 2008.

Masters field taking shape

Boo Weekley has been so busy building a house he hasn't bothered checking the mail. He might want to keep alert the next few weeks for a white envelope with a return address of Augusta, Ga.
