Aussies proud of play

There would have been beer for breakfast in Australia had Adam Scott, Jason Day or Geoff Ogilvy found a way to hold on to the lead they all shared at one time or another Sunday during the final round of the Masters Tournament. Unlike past Australian failings at Augusta National Golf Club, though, this wasn't a case of throwing away the tournament with ill-timed shots and missed putts.

Birdie putts save Ogilvy

A major winner in Friday's 10:30 a.m. group made a charge up the leaderboard in the second round, but it wasn't Phil Mickelson. Geoff Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open winner, shot his second 3-under 69 to move to 6-under for the tournament and a tie for fifth place. After a double bogey on the second hole, the Aussie rolled in six birdie putts while Mickelson spun his wheels.

Ogilvy hopes for perfect timing

There's always a lot of buzz about Geoff Ogilvy early in the golf season. In the second half, not so much. All seven of his PGA Tour career victories have come before July, including his 2006 U.S. Open win.

Ogilvy could end Aussies' drought

It might be a good idea for Masters Tournament officials to get a rough estimate of Geoff Ogilvy's coat size for future reference.
