Diary: 'Television does no justice for this course'

Yesterday was actually my second time playing here. I didn't keep score. I'll probably keep score tomorrow. But the greens are a lot faster (today). I knew they were going to be fast, but they are unbelievable.
It's a lot different than when you watch it on TV or when you read about it. Just to be a part of it, you know ... I mean I played it yesterday, and just look at this place. It is just unreal, definitely overwhelming. It's hard to put into words.
(The course) is a little tighter (with spectators) out there, that's for sure. It was fun. There are a lot of people out here. You hear that there are a lot of people out here, but it is pretty incredible.
It was neat (coming down Magnolia Lane into Augusta National Golf Club). Driving down here, you feel like you've earned the trip down. You drive down Washington Road and then go down the street to the clubhouse and go through it.
You come out and think: masterpiece. It's pretty cool. When I actually walked out of the clubhouse on the grounds, I was like, "Wow!"
Television does no justice for this course as far as the undulations in the golf course, the greens. Off the 10th tee, you don't see that. You just think, "Wow!"
(I got to skip the ball across the pond at the par 3 No. 16) yesterday and today. It was fun. People are yelling at you to skip it across. (I got it across and on the green) both times.
I hit the groove (of the green), but I got it over the water. It's a good start.
I played with Chad Campbell and Rod Pampling , who are good friends of mine. And I played with (amateur) Luke List . He's a good kid. It was fun to play with them and hang out.
I played nine holes yesterday and joined up with (Jim) Furyk, Nick O'Hern and David Howell yesterday.
This week is a little different. With the Par-3 tournament on Wednesday, I'm trying to develop a routine. I'll play Monday, Tuesday, nine holes on Wednesday and not try to put too much focus into it, just try and relax and get ready for Thursday morning.
Today I played for a while, and now I'm ready to go. I mean, I don't want to leave just because of where we are at, but I'm a little tired and want to kick my feet up for a little while. I'll be out here a couple more days.
I didn't talk to anybody about (playing here), really. I just talked with a few guys about what to expect. I talked with (Campbell), and he said the greens have never been as fast on Monday. You really can't listen to how undulating the greens are until you putt on them. You see the ball on TV rolling off certain areas. But when you see it, you're, "Wow."
(Already here are) my parents, my wife. My wife's parents will be here, and my aunt and sister will be here (Tuesday). It's a fun week. I'm having a good time, and I know they are having fun.
