Who's hot, who's not

Who's Hot: Trevor Immelman

The South African's third trip to the Masters is working out a lot better than his first two visits.

Immelman, who placed 56th as an amateur in 1999 and missed the cut in 2004, shot5-under-par 31 on the back nine to open his third round Saturday.

He made the cut at 2-over, but quickly got to red figures with five birdies. He made the first on No. 13 and then ran off four in a row on Nos. 15-18.

Who's Not: Ernie Els

The two-time Masters runner-up saw his chances at winning a green jacket slip away for good Saturday. He finished the second round at 4-over 148 to make the cut with no room to spare, then shot 2-over-par 38 on the first nine holes of his third round.

Els made double bogey on the 13th hole, a short par-5 that annually ranks among the easiest holes at Augusta. In 2002, Els made triple-bogey 8 on the hole to end his hopes of winning. He made eight pars to go with the double bogey on the back side Saturday.

Wild Card: Ryan Moore

The amateur from Washington state is backing up his bold statements.

Through two rounds, Moore was at2-under 142. Then in Saturday's third round, Moore made his move with birdies on Nos. 3 and 7. Bogeys on Nos. 4 and 8 derailed that momentum, but the worst was yet to come.

After missing a short birdie putt at No. 9, Moore hit the 10th green in regulation. But he four-putted from 40 feet to end the day at even par, 13 shots behind leader Chris DiMarco.
