Woods completed his run of four consecutive majors by fighting off a star-studded leaderboard for his second green jacket.

It was his fifth major in six events and the third of his five titles that season.

- Runner-up: David Duval (274)
- Position after 18 holes: T-15th
- Position after 36 holes: T-2nd

Despite shooting a final-round 71, Woods became only the third player to repeat as Masters champion, as his rivals missed out on their opportunities to win the event.

Woods went on to win the U.S. Open that year to complete the first half of the Grand Slam, but a third-round disaster at the British Open kept him from taking a shot at history.
