CALVIN GREGORY, OF SAVANNAH, said there was no way he could have prepared himself for a Sunday at the Masters Tournament.

It was something he'd heard about from friends who had attended the Masters before.

When he finally got to experience a final round at Augusta, he couldn't put it into words.

"I don't know how to express how exciting it was," he said. "To have Tiger (Woods) and Chris DiMarco battle down the stretch was awesome."

Gregory said he followed the final group, along with the pairing of Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh, intermittently throughout the day.

"I'm a big Tiger fan, but the crowds were so large that it was hard to follow him all the way," Gregory said. "When we got to No. 18 there were already so many people there. We had to get behind the media people and try to watch the television in the scoring hut."

Gregory said he wasn't upset that he didn't get a chance to see the final hole or the playoff.

"I got to see extra golf and there was so much intrigue," he said. "How could I be upset?"

Gregory said he would stay around to try to get a glimpse of the green jacket ceremony, but he wasn't sure he would be able to see that either.

"It doesn't matter," he said. "Tiger hasn't won a major in awhile, so I'm just happy for him."
