Thursday: Major Rager is back with Gov't Mule, Sirius radio gig

As spring and the Masters get into full “swing” it’s time once again to do a little spring cleaning. Gee, like sand at the beach, pollen does get into everything and besides, it would be nice to see my desk again. Hey, there’s my phone!

It’s really amazing to see how quickly the Major Rager has grown in just a year. George Claussen and his Friends With Benefits team should be commended as this year’s festival is already drawing international recognition.

This year’s lineup at the Thursday, April 9, event at Augusta Common, 836 Broad St., could not be better. Phillip Lee Jr., The Revivalists, Lettuce, and headliners Gov’t Mule are a perfect mix of musicians that will please the masses ready to “party hearty’ in downtown Augusta.

Music starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 advance at TheMajorRager.com or $40 at the gate.

For those of you that will miss the Rager, it’s going to be broadcast worldwide live on “Jam On,” Sirius Channel 29. Yes, that’s the same channel that the Allman Brothers Band used for their final shows at the Beacon Theatre. This is a major coup for the Rager and again proves the validity of Augusta as a viable touring stop for artists.
