Jordan Spieth tees off on No. 4 during the third round of the Masters Tournament.

With windy conditions making scoring difficult, Jordan Spieth continues to hold his lead through nine holes of the third round.

Bidding to become the fourth person to win green jackets in back-to-back years, Spieth reached the green in two at No. 2 and made birdie to move to 5-under and extend his lead to two over playing partner McIlroy. Spieth missed the greens at Nos. 3, 4 and 6 and still saved par. He drove into the trees at No. 7 and saved bogey with a seven-foot putt.

McIlroy has yet to get into a rhythm. He drove into the fairway bunker at No. 2 and made par. He drove into the fairway bunker at No. 3 and made bogey. After another bogey at No. 7, McIlroy drove into the bunker at the par-5 eighth and saved par. He finished the front nine at 1-under for the tournament.

Day bounced back from a bogey at No. 1 to shoot 35 on the front nine. He is 1-under for the tournament after draining a 69-foot birdie putt at No. 14.

Langer, a two-time Masters champion, birdied No. 13 to move to red numbers on his round. He then chipped in for birdie at No. 14 to move to 1-under for the tournament.

Five players have posted 80 or worse, including Kevin Na at 85.
