Matt Every enters with confidence

After two runner-up finishes in 2012 and four top-10 finishes last year, Matt Every broke through with a comeback win at Bay Hill this year to earn his first Masters Tournament invite.

Every enters the Masters with confidence and isn’t letting his surroundings affect his focus.

“I am playing well, but if I play bad, people play bad,” he said. “It might not be about my first time here. I’m not saying I’ll light it up this week, but I feel good about my game.”

Every has five top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments this season to back that claim. Three of his past four outings resulted in top-10 showings.

Every said he’s treating Augusta National Golf Club like just another course.

“I’m not a big sentimental picture taker,” he said. “It’s very cool being on this property. But I’m coming here because it’s my job. I’m very happy to be here and have the opportunity to play in this tournament, but I’m not acting like it’s the last time I’ll be in this tournament.”
