Palmer takes step back on moving day at Masters

On moving day Saturday at the Masters, Ryan Palmer found his driving stuck in neutral.

The Texan hit only six fairways, and his comfort zone off the tee box was never quite there. His 2-over 74 left him at 1-over for the tournament.

“Disappointment,” Palmer said of his 15th career round played in his fifth Masters. “That sums it up. That one word. Just drove it poorly. When you are driving like I did you can’t play this golf course.”

Palmer’s two biggest fans, his parents Butch and Gloria, will attend their first Masters on Sunday.

“Sunday at the Masters is always is special,” Ryan said. “To have your mom and dad here, along with my wife, Jennifer, and a lot of close friends in attendance makes it even more special.”
