Robbie's Sports Bar has much to offer

If shooting pool and sipping a draft beer while surrounded by enough televisions to watch every game being aired on the cable television networks suits your fancy, then Robbie's Sports Bar on Washington Road is just for you.

Robbie's has a billiards room up front that is loaded with pool tables and a few arcade games. Photos of people playing pool and posters of beer brands, race cars and drivers, and football players and team logos cover the walls.

The bar, lined with red and blue Christmas lights, is across from booths, tables and chairs, and bartenders are most frequently filling orders for Jagermeister and beer. The dance floor, adjacent to the bar, is occupied only Wednesday through Saturday nights when disc jockeys play the hits. Other nights, music is provided by a jukebox.

DJ Russ said he plays pop, hip-hop, dance or "whatever it takes to keep people on the dance floor" on Friday and Saturday nights when the cover is $3 for 21 and over, $5 for age 18-21 and $10 for 17-year-olds.

Wednesdays are the busiest nights, with DJ Doug, and unlimited pool and beer for $8. Patrons have the same option on Thursdays.

There's no cover charge on Mondays and Tuesdays. Mondays are F&B nights: People who work for food or beverage companies get food and drink discounts.

On Sundays, different professional football games are shown on the 17 TV sets throughout the building, including a big-screen TV on the back wall.

Robbie's has no enforced dress code, and the menu is typical pub fare of burgers, wings and chili dogs, in addition to such items as a bacon cheese chicken sandwich, a 6-inch pizza and nachos grande. Menu prices range from $2 to $6.

The sports bar opens at 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sundays. All ages are welcome until 8 p.m. when patrons must be at least 18 to enter, except on Fridays and Saturdays, when age 17 is allowed.
