TRIPLE BOGEY ON NO. 17: Appleby was the only player under par before a triple bogey on the 17th hole cut his lead.
A hooked tee shot wound up in a greenside bunker on the adjacent seventh hole. From there, Appleby hit into the woods, and he played his third shot into a greenside bunker.
After blasting out, he three-putted from about 10 feet.
