Who's hot, who's not
WHO'S HOT
Zach Johnson
In search of his first major championship, Zach Johnson didn't wilt down the stretch Sunday at Augusta National.
He played the first nine holes 1-under 35 to get in the hunt, then he birdied three holes on the final nine for a two-shot victory. His bogeys came at Nos. 1, 5 and 17.
On the front nine, he made birdies at Nos. 2, 3 and 8.
Johnson's 69 matched the low score of the day.
WHO'S NOT
Phil Mickelson
The defending champion never got on track as he played all four rounds over par.
Mickelson was in contention heading into Sunday's final round, but he promptly shot himself out with a triple bogey on the first hole. He made three other bogeys against one birdie and wound up with 5-over 77 and a tie for 24th.
"I didn't feel like I played that well, or certainly not like I wanted," Mickelson said. "I'll take a couple of weeks off and get ready for the TPC and for the U.S. Open."
WILD CARD
Rory Sabbatini
The South African parlayed his adventurous round into his best finish ever in a major, a tie for second.
Sabbatini was hot early, with birdies on Nos. 2 and 3 and an eagle on the par-5 eighth after he holed a long putt from the back of the green. A bogey on No. 9 left him with 33 for the front.
He was even-par on the final nine, with birdies on Nos. 13 and 18 to offset bogeys at Nos. 14 and 16.
"This is a great start to the year and hopefully something to build on," Sabbatini said.
