HIGH-SCORING WINNERS
Zach Johnson's winning total of 1-over-par 289 matches the highest winning score in Masters history:
1954 - SAM SNEAD
Sam Snead won his third and final Masters by defeating Ben Hogan in an 18-hole playoff.
Snead opened with rounds of 74-73-70 but trailed Hogan by three entering the final day. Snead shot even-par 72 to force the playoff, and won the next day with a 70 to Hogan's 71.
An amateur named Billy Joe Patton finished one shot out of the playoff after taking double bogey on the 13th and bogey on the 15th in the final round.
1956 - JACK BURKE JR.
Burke set a Masters record by rallying from eight shots behind the final day to nip amateur Ken Venturi by one stroke.
Burke's 71 matched Sam Snead for low score of the round, on a cold and windy day at Augusta National.
Venturi led through 54 holes after opening with 66-69-75. He shot 80 in the final round.
