Pupils performed slightly better than the state average on the science and social studies portions of the 2002-03 Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test.

SAT scores for the county dropped 12 points in 2003 to 1,008, a decline school officials blamed on an influx of first-time test takers.

Chukker Creek Elementary has ranked in the top five schools in the state in recent years and is a two-time winner of the Palmetto Gold and Silver award for consistently high-scoring schools.
