Housing

The Augusta-Aiken Metropolitan Statistical Area housing market is made for prospective buyers.

Homes are affordable and plentiful to families at all income levels. According to a 1998 study by the National Association of Home Builders, Augusta-Aiken ranked No. 1 in affordable housing among the 187 cities surveyed.

Expansion Magazine reported that Augusta has one of the lowest housing prices, with a market value of $104,600 for an eight-room, four-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot house in a middle-class community.

From a contemporary home with all the modern touches to a turn-of-the-century Victorian home in a historic neighborhood, there are homes in every style and price range.

Whether that dream house is an affordable ranch near good schools and shopping, a rustic home on several acres, or a patio retirement home on one of the areaÕs golf courses, Augusta has a number of possibilities.
