Troy State University is growing in Augusta.

The university began as a teachers college in Troy, Ala.

It has evolved into a university system made up of three large campuses in Troy, Dothan and Montgomery in Alabama, plus more than 50 other sites around the world that comprise University College.

Troy State has five 10-week terms a year, and students can start in any term and complete their master's degree in one year if they take two classes a term.

Students are typically adults working full-time in areas such as law enforcement, education and government.

Troy State University offers master's of education degrees in counseling and psychology, criminal justice, educational leadership, instructional technology and history; master's of science degrees in health care management; and bachelor's of science degrees in criminal justice.
