Spring weather eludes patrons

Even the Canadians were cold Tuesday.
"We dressed in layers -- lots of them," said Raelene Peseski, who traveled to Augusta from Brights Grove, Ontario, in hopes of enjoying balmy spring weather.
Instead, visitors to Tuesday's practice round of the Masters Tournament endured a consistent, gusty wind.
"With all this wind, it's cold, even for us," Peseski said.
The wind didn't exactly howl, but it was much more than a whisper.
"I'm warm enough, but we're used to this," said John Conkle, of Smethport, Pa. "It's snowing up there at home right now, but it ought to be warmer down here."
Temperatures barely climbed into the 50s on Tuesday, keeping most golf fans bundled and spurring many of them to buy sweaters and heavier clothing.
Forecasters issued a freeze warning for this morning, with possible scattered frost and lows around 32 or 33 degrees. The rest of the day, however, is expected to warm to 65 degrees, with wind speeds of just 5 to 14 miles per hour at midday.
The rest of Masters Week is expected to be much milder, with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s each day, according to the National Weather Service, which has forecast a 40 percent chance of rain Friday.
