ANDRES ROMERO'S EAGLE ON NO. 3: Andres Romero made a rare eagle Thursday on Augusta National's shortest par-4 hole.

Romero holed out on the 350-yard third hole. The pin was cut in the back of the green.

It was the 10th eagle on the hole in Masters play, but the first since Rocco Mediate and Larry Mize each made eagles in 2000.

There were five other eagles in Thursday's opening round -- all on longer Par-5 holes. They were made by:

- Stephen Ames on No. 2

- Luke Donald on No. 15

- Jeev Milkha Singh on No. 13

- Nick Watney on No. 2

- Mike Weir on No. 13
