Cink keeps his fans updated by Twitter
Before he took to the course Friday morning, Stewart Cink let his fans know he was worried about the day's forecast.
"10:45 start tgis moning Line of storms appears on radar and could affect us around noon or after. More breeze today too. SSW 10-20mph," he posted on Twitter, a social networking Web site where users post minute-by-minute updates of their day.
The night before he teed off in Wednesday's Masters Tournament practice round, Cink chatted with fans about his plans for takeout at Macaroni Grill, even though it meant he would miss the start of American Idol.
By Wednesday afternoon, he had taken pictures of the course and posted them.
Twitter lets Cink's 4,598 fans (and counting) trail him even without access to Augusta National Golf Club.
Tiger Woods also has a Twitter account, although he hasn't updated it this Masters Week.
The PGA Tour maintains an account and posts throughout the day.
Wednesday's posts included live coverage and a link to the Facebook page of reigning champion Trevor Immelman, who is not yet using Twitter.
