Crew Van Pelt had a question for his dad.

Recently, Bo Van Pelt’s 5-year-old son asked whether he ever had a hole-in-one.

“I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Well, you haven’t made one in quite a while,’ ” Van Pelt recalled with a smile.

Van Pelt had a nice gift for his family Sunday.

He tied a Masters Sunday record with 8-under 64, with his ace on No. 16 the highlight.

Patrons roared after the hole-in-one, and as Van Pelt looked to his right, he saw his family.

Two holes later – after a birdie on No. 18 – he high-fived his daughter, Olivia, 10.

“How about that?” he said.

In his final round, Van Pelt never three-putted and finally solved the conundrum that was Nos. 14-18.

He was 6-over on those holes in the first three rounds. On Sunday, he played them in 4-under.

Though his history-tying round wasn’t enough to overcome three over-par rounds, Van Pelt isn’t stuck on any what-ifs.

“It’s just golf. There’s no guarantee,” he said. “We’d all like to pick and choose when we have a good round. But we don’t get to do that.”
