  • Started hitting golf balls at the age of 18 months. His father would demonstrate right-handed while he would follow along right-handed.
  • Is right handed in everything except golf.
  • One of only six players ever to win the Masters with a birdie on the final hole.
  • Phil is the last amateur to win a PGA Tour event: the 1991 Norther Telecom Open in Tucson.
  • Though he designed his first course in 2001, he formally opened Phil Mickelson Design in August of 2006, with initial plans to design four courses.
  • Breaking his leg in a skiing accident in March of 1994, he used the 3 months off to gain his pilots license.
