Bubba Watson said he’s less nervous this November with the absence of tournament patrons. The 2012 and 2014 Masters champion spoke Tuesday about the unusual silence that suddenly surrounds Amen Corner.

“Usually those fans, they make me nervous,” Watson said. “When I walk from 11 to 12, they cheer a little different because I've won here before. So you give them a little wave, give them a little nod and then that makes me nervous.”

Watson confirmed that he’d attend Tuesday’s Champions Dinner, saying what he enjoys most about the evening is hearing old-timers share stories.

“One day, 40 years, 30 years from now I'll be the guy telling random stories and people will be like, ’No, that didn't happen,’” Watson said. “They’ll say, ‘You didn't hit that hook shot,’ and I'll be like, ‘Yeah, I did.’”

Watson will tee off at 11:27 a.m. Thursday with Matthew Wolff and Tommy Fleetwood.
